Christy Wolverton is the Owner and Director of Dance Industry Performing Arts Center in Plano, Texas. Dance Industry houses some of the most talented dancers in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and has been open since 2000. Christy started dance at a very young age and continued her dance training competitively and professionally. Her studies include tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, and lyrical. She has trained extensively under such artists as Suzie Taylor, Joe Lanteri, and Mia Michaels. She trained in New York at Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center and furthers her dance education on the East and West Coast.

Name: Jessica Hendricks (Co-Company Director)
Jessica Hendricks graduated from the University of Colorado with a BFA in Dance. Her credits include commercials and industrials for Godiva, Loreal, Reebok, Toys R Us, Universal Studios, Volkswagon and Warner Brothers. Jessica has worked on the European tour of HAIR as Dance Captain, performed for the opening premiers of Moulin Rouge and The Great Gatsby and can be seen in such movies as Living Out Loud and Between The Sheets. She has danced in the Elan Awards, Bob Fosse Awards, Ms. America Pageant, Carnival and Broadway Bares.

Name: Annie Blankenship (Dance Instructor)
Annie Blankenship has been dancing since the age of two and has been trained in all styles of dance. She trained under Dance Industry’s owner and artistic director Christy Wolverton for seven years as a member of the performing company. As a competitive dancer Annie won many scholarships and titles. She received numerous scholarships from West Coast Dance Explosion, Tremaine, LA Dance Magic, and New York City Dance Alliance and also won the title of Tremaine Teen National Dancer of the Year in 2004.

Name: Amanda Leise (Dance Instructor)
Amanda Leise, originally from Boulder, Colorado has been performing, teaching and choreographing in LA for the past 5 years. Her film and industrial credits include Dance 10, Disney Scooby Doo industrial, Heart Association Ball and Cherry Creek Arts. Her stage appearances include Kitty McNamee Benefit, Carnival performances at the Key Club, California Adventure, EDGE scholarship show, and Adam Parson’s Essentials show. Amanda currently teaches at the EDGE Performing Arts Center and is also on the Urban Jamm faculty. She is in high demand as a Master teacher and choreographer all around the world.

Name: Ashley Rocke (Dance Instructor)
Ashley Rocke is an award recipient and graduate of the University of North Texas holding a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree in dance and anthropology. She was the founding President of Chi Tau Epsilon Honor Society for Dance at UNT. Ashley was the 2000-2003 Appearance Director for the NBA Dallas Mavericks Dancers, and aided in coordinating marketing appearances for the Mavericks throughout the community. Her specialization is in the area of drill and performance team training, and she customizes and provides programs that allow dancers to train for the technical and performance aspects of their individual high schools.

Name: Katie Woodard (Dance Instructor)
Katie Woodard has been dancing since the age of 7 and has trained extensively in jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, technique, and hip hop. At age 11, her family moved to Plano where she began training under Christy Wolverton, owner and artistic director of Dance Industry. She was a member of Dance Industry’s top performing company for five years and helped the group win several regional and national awards. Individually, Katie received several convention scholarships from West Coast Dance Explosion, Tremaine, and New York City Dance Alliance. In 2004, she was one of six female finalists at Tremaine Nationals in Orlando, Florida for the title of Senior Dancer of the Year.

Tammy is an award recipient and graduate of the University of North Texas, with a major in Dance and a minor in Child Psychology and Social Sciences. She was the Artistic Director for the Chi Tau Epsilon Honor Society for Dance at UNT. Tammy specializes in early childhood development in the arts, and has extensive ballet and modern training. With 27 years of teaching experience ranging from private schools, companies, studios, junior colleges to universities, it is obvious that she is gifted with the ability to teach all ages, all levels, and multiple dance forms.

Chelsea loves to dance! She could not imagine her life without it. Formal training started at age 7 for Chelsea in Kingwood, Texas, at Rowland’s School of Ballet. She performed and competed for nine years as a top member of Kingwood Jazz and Company, a modern dance company housed with Rowland’s School of Ballet. Chelsea also performed as a guest dancer for Kingwood Dance Theater, a company housed with Rowland Ballard’s School of Ballet in Kingwood. She performed in Kingwood Dance Theater’s annual Nutcracker Production in many roles over the years.

Born to be an entertainer, Derrick has been dancing all of his life even though he did not start formal training until the age 9. Donna, born and raised in California, began her dance career on the Central Coast at Pat Jackson’s American Dance Studios, home of the Award Winning American Dancers. She won a scholarship to attend there and became a member of Fast Forward performance group. Later, she was chosen to dance with the American Dance Company and has gone on to teach all ages in Hip Hop, Jazz, and Children’s Combo Classes (Jazz, tap, ballet). She was director over the pre-teen performance group at Pat Jackson’s American as well.

Geralyn Del Corso Garner began studying dance at the age of three and received honors in all of her exams taught under The London Royal Academy of Dance. At age 12, Geralyn auditioned for The School of American Ballet in NYC and was accepted on a full scholarship. She studied with several world renowned teachers from Russia, Denmark, and the United States, including Madame Danilova, Suki Schorer, Stanley Williams and Peter Martins; all of whom were hand picked by Mr. George Balanchine. While attending The School of American Ballet, Geralyn attended summer courses at The Houston Ballet Academy, The Joffrey Ballet School, and The Harkness Ballet.

Michelle Santana has been dancing for most of her life. She started her early training in Brazil, where she studied ballet for many years. At the age of sixteen Ms. Santana moved to Cuba to train at the National Ballet of Cuba with their company and school. After studying in Cuba, Ms. Santana trained with the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet under the direction of John White and Margarita de Saa. Ms. Santana has danced professionally with a few companies throughout the years, including USA Ballet, New England Ballet, and the Ballet Nacional de Lima, in Peru.

Caitlyn has been dancing for 11 years and teaching for 6 years. She is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a Minor in Dance. Her competitive training began with the performing company at the Dallas Power House of Dance and then went on to dance for the competition team at The Centre for Dance, where she was Dance Captain. She has been trained in jazz, ballet, technique, hip hop and contemporary. Caitlyn has been trained by many well known dancers such as Marty Kudelka, Justin Giles, Roger Lee, Kim McSwain and Dee Caspary.

Charles has been teaching hip hop and freestyle elements for the past 7 years throughout Dallas and the surrounding metroplex. Performing as a musician gave Charles the desire to explore other ways to express his love for music. Music was introduced to Charles at a very young age in the forms of jazz, funk, and classical genres. His evolution into dance started in 1998 as he began extensive training with the dance crew, DiverseSoulz! There she performed alongside the professional company and guest Bolshoi dancers in productions such as the Nutcracker, Paganini, and Paquita at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth.
