Amanda began dancing in the Dallas area at the age of three. In 2002 she began to train seriously in classical ballet ending up at the Metropolitan Classical Ballet Academy in Arlington, TX. There she performed alongside the professional company and guest Bolshoi dancers in productions such as the Nutcracker, Paganini, and Paquita at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth. Amanda went on to participate and compete in the Youth America Grand Prix, an international ballet competition placing 2nd place in the Dallas junior division in 2005, and placing 1st in the Chicago senior division going on to become a top 20 ranked worldwide finalist in New York City in 2008. In the fall of 2008 Amanda was invited by the Beijing Dance Academy in Beijing, China to take part in the Beijing International Ballet Invitational where she was a finalist and trained at the academy. She has also spent her summers furthering her training at the prestigious schools of American Ballet Theatre and The School of American Ballet in New York City and Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle on scholarship.
