Chelsea loves to dance! She could not imagine her life without it. Formal training started at age 7 for Chelsea in Kingwood, Texas, at Rowland’s School of Ballet. She performed and competed for nine years as a top member of Kingwood Jazz and Company, a modern dance company housed with Rowland’s School of Ballet. Chelsea also performed as a guest dancer for Kingwood Dance Theater, a company housed with Rowland Ballard’s School of Ballet in Kingwood. She performed in Kingwood Dance Theater’s annual Nutcracker Production in many roles over the years. Chelsea has extensive technical training in ballet, lyrical, jazz, and modern dance. As a member of Kingwood Jazz and Company she was fortunate to have trained under and performed choreography by such mentors as Jessica Hendricks, Peter Chu, Tamara Dyke, JT Horenstein, Alex Little and Mandy Moore. Chelsea further diversified her dance training by annually attending classes at the EDGE Performing Arts Center in Los Angelos, CA. As a member of Kingwood Jazz and Company, Chelsea competed in group dances that placed first in many regional and national competitions. Individually, she won top senior solo, top senior duet and top senior trio at regional competitions such as NYCDA, LA Dance Force, LA Dance Magic, Starpower, IDC and Showstoppers. She also felt honored to have won the National Senior Grand Champion title in 2005-2006 from LA Dance Force for her duet performance, “Sometimes Light”, choreographed by Peter Chu. Chelsea looks forward to sharing her knowledge of dance, helping her students develop a passion for movement and continuing to grow as a dancer at Dance Industry.
